Somerset Day

SOMERSET DAY takes place on Saturday 11th May and is a celebration of Somerset- in Somerset. There are lots of special events all around the County- do read on for more information about this special day.

Celebrating Somerset do see www.somersetday.com

Somerset Day champions this most beautiful and bountiful of British counties.

We have the single aim of celebrating Somerset and all it has to offer, and shouting this from the treetops. Help us to let everyone know what a fantastic place the county is to live, work, visit and study.

Somerset Day’s work centres around May 11th every year, a day chosen in honour of King Alfred the Great’s routing of the Vikings from his stronghold in the Somerset marshes in May 878.
